Why not introduce yourselves by telling everyone who your inspiration is?

Mine: Stephen King, Lee Child, Arthur C Clark, Isaac Asimov

You?

I guess I'll join ya' seeing as how no one else is chiming in yet...

My main influences are the experimental writers...Burroughs, Bukowski, HST, Bernstein...etc.

I read everything I can get my hands on though so I am sure I have been influenced in small ways by a wide variety authors....

My name is Melissa, and I am a writer and poet.  I love writing poetry and short fiction, but I also write screenplays, fan fiction, and lyrics.

I used to be an avid reader of Stephen King and Anne Rice.  However, these days, I just browse used and old bookstores, pick up anything that grabs my interest, and read that.

Some of my favorite books are the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King, and Darkwood by Mark Beem.

I just joined SW yesterday, but Im pretty jazzed and have had the chance to read some really good stories on here.

With that said, I would include Barry Eisler, Robert Crais, Raymond Chandler...My style is also very cinema based.  I have the first few episodes of my long fiction story "The Gunslingers Lullaby" posted, as well as a short story called Honor's Lesson.  Check them both out and let me know what you all think.  Im interested in any feedback you guys could give me.

My name is Aaron, and I've been writing short stories since I was a child - more recently have I begun to start taking my ideas and dreams seriously.  I'm a fan of horror writing, and take a lot of my spare time reading short stories and compilations of early 20th century writers.

Other than that - I just keep the pen to paper.

Hi, my name is De'Vaughn! I'm really just a 17 year old guy that like the Squre Enix corperation that made Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy.

My insperation in Namura Tetsuya, because he can make characters right off the bat, give such a intriging story! I want to do that with core nova!

Hullo all

My name is Mark Cunliffe and I've recently discovered storywar. I've added a few stories up and just want to say I'm really chuffed at the positive response they have recieved

As I say I'm new to this site, so if anyone can give me any tips...like can you respond to reviews? I'd love to say thanks to peeps.

You can find my work on www.hackwriters.com, where I've been a regular contributor for the past 18 months or more, notching up at least a story a month, many featuring my regular character Guy Block, a randy University Professor, but I also write spy fiction and tales of sex and modern malaise haha! Some of the tales here have previously featured on that site, I'm just trying to reach a wider audience and am grateful storywar exists for that!

Hi, I've just posted my first two stories on the site and rated half a dozen I picked at random from the list. There's a pretty wide range of stuff uploaded isn't there?

I don't know whom my influences are, I can only tell you what I like to read myself. At the moment I'm utterly entralled by the poems of Fernando Pessoa. I read everything by Salman Rushdie. I went through a massive Steinbeck phase when I was about 19 that still influences the way I think about writing and the way I judge my own. I also love Wendy Cope, Joanne Harris, Primo Levi, Laurie Lee, Virginia Woolf,... oh I could just go on and on but I won't.
